Our Wonderful Puppy, Piper.
Born on November 20, 2007, she has been the joy of our life, despite
the lack of sleep, the need for constant attention, and the MEGA GUARD DOG mode
she seems to be in, even in sleep.

Piper has realized she is able to play with big dogs without the world crashing down on her. Therefore, she must
play with ALL dogs. Even those who are barking furiously at her from their gated yards in their best big dog voices.
She still pulls like a maniac when walked without her gentle leader, which is her mom's fault because I can't figure
out how to walk her properly. She loves the game dubbed Big Dog, Small Dog, where on Sunday mornings dad shoves his head
into her neck, she rolls onto her back and chews on his ears or licks his head and seems in heaven. With mom, she varies
the game by chewing on mom's pony tail and biting mom's nose. Strangely enough, this is still fun, although when I emerge
from the game, I look decidedly ravaged. There is nothing like coming home after being at work all day and seeing
her little wiggling butt greeting me at the door waiting to give me kisses. And I even love it when, in the middle of the
night, she decides she's much more comfortable curled up in a ball on my chest. All 57lbs of her.
