An Explanation.

The purpose of this website is to represent the entirety of my life (or at least what I am willing to put online).

Robin Blinde Illustrations displays examples of my artwork, both past and present. I am a meticulous illustrator - I will not rest until the project I am working on meets both my standards and those of my clients. I welcome ideas for new projects, new clients, and please do take a look at my For Sale items!

KidsArt-Los Altos is my art studio for students ages four through adults. KidsArt has developed a curriculum which breaks down every picture into something anyone of any skill level can handle, and I truly believe we teach essential fundamentals for students who are interested in art, who may be struggling with art in school, or who have fine motor skill issues. It is a wonderful environment for artists of any age.

The Entrepreneur is a newsletter to promote the wide variety of small businesses my friends and family members have become involved in. In addition to the website, I will also create a mailer for those of us who still prefer to have something tangible to read. I welcome new submissions (I do require a connection to me - a friend of a friend works, but please no unknown submissions) and will mail a hard copy to anyone who asks. It is a way to touch base with some people you have lost contact with, and the best marketing you could ask for is word of mouth referral. I feel if we knew about each others' businesses, we could spread the word and help each other grow. It is not easy running your own business, and every little bit of marketing could help.

The Personal page is...well...personal.

Biography.

I was born in 1975, and was raised in Southern California. After earning my bachelor's degree at the University of California in Santa Barbara, I moved to San Francisco. I earned my second bachelor's degree in Illustration from the Art Academy, and then promptly moved back down to Los Angeles, where I spent the next few years creating murals. Feeling torn between wanting to make a career creating artwork, and wanting to know I'll be able to pay the bills each month, I found a steady job as a manager of a KidsArt Studio in Valencia. Surrounding myself with children and other teachers has helped inspire me to create more in my spare time, and has helped me learn about what techniques work for me and where my interests lie much more than my time in art school did. I now own my own KidsArt studio in Los Altos, California, and am focusing on my artwork in a more serious manner. Of course, by "serious", I mean actually creating work and turning it into a business - I believe no one can call the majority of my work serious.

I have yet to narrow down my interests to any specific style or subject matter - I love to paint animals but am more fascinated by human portraits. I enjoy painting murals and also painting on canvas. I am happiest with a pencil and eraser and am most satisfied when I am able to sit and create IDEAS for projects. Being a perfectionist, I am always looking for ways to improve my skills, and strive to produce the best work I possibly can for my clients. I am excited to work on any aspect of a creative project, including charity work and working with groups.
